SIDLEFEST #1 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has stopped almost the entire offline education activity system worldwide, leading to the closure of schools, universities, and colleges. The discontinuation of almost formal educational conditions makes many institutions create alternative educational opportunities virtually.

According to UNICEF monitoring, 186 countries have implemented national-scale closures, and 8 countries have implemented local closures. It affects about 98.5% of the world's student population (UNESCO, 2020). The policies set out in the world education system become virtual learning by replacing all offline educational activities. That makes the government, and related institutions must present alternative educational processes for students. Education plays an essential role in the culture. Culture gives the understanding to address a problem (Pandemic COVID-19) more wisely and carefully.

The arts are an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic…music, dance, painting, and theater are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment.

— William Bennett, Former US Secretary of Education.
